The need for a true Punjabi Entertainment Channel was being felt for a long time but no body was taking initiative.
A true Punjabi family entertainment television channel which started beaming its programs from 5th September’2006 at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham. With the overwhelming response to Channel Punjab, & the public demanded for Channel Punjab to be made available in EUROPE also. In October’2006, Channel Punjab was introduced into Europe where it too has been well received. The Punjabis settled in UK and Europe consider it to be prestigious to have subscribed for Channel Punjab. Now the Channel Punjab is beamed in U.A.E also.
The channel is offering a wide bouquet of informative and entertaining programs and touch upon all aspects of Punjabi life and culture, which has been ignored far too long. It is the first true Family Punjabi Entertainment Channel catering to the Punjabis living outside the Punjab.
Punjabi language and culture are full of colour and life. It is proper time to give to the Punjabis of the world an International platform so that we can show the whole world what Punjabis of Punjab have to offer: Family Values, Culture, Music, Comedy, History, Religion and much much more.
We, at Channel Punjab want to go back to our roots and give to the Public what they want, and what they have been missing- A Channel where they can sit with all the Family Members and watch a programme, which is pleasing to all.
With the passage of time and modernisation, the younger generations of Punjabis are being denied this very fact. We, at Channel Punjab intend to bring back what our ancestors started. We should always remember that we are Punjabi by Heart and Soul, which is a God given gift.
It is Channel Punjab’s objective to bring back the family values for our next generation, which our ancestors passed onto us and let us never forget how they struggled and fought to keep their values and identity intact.
Keeping in view this very fact in mind almost all the programmes are made in India, particularly in Punjab so that Punjabis abroad should get the real feel of their ancestral land.
Family Serials :
The family serials which talks about our day to day activities what is going in a Punjabi families, our serials always try to convey a useful message to the Punjabi viewers. After seeing them, the all family members are get connected with each other with the tremendous mammoth bonds of love and affection which bind them together for ages to come. No scene is shown in our serials which disunite the family or dilute the family bondings.
Our serials always try to show the extreme decency, glorifying our traditions and strengthens our value system. After seeing them the trust and respect among the members of the family is multiplied. We are very much against obscenity. We are very much against nudity and vulgarity.
Comedy Shows :
When we talk about comedy, the comedy produced by Nishaan Media (India) Pvt. Ltd. Is totally family oriented comedy. The comedy which instills the humour and total fatigue of the day is minimized after seeing the frolics actions of the different Punjabi characters. The script writers for the comedy shows are specially instructed not to write any double meaning comedy. In our comedy shows a daughter is not to move out in the presence of his father when comedy shows going.
Religious Programmes:
Theses programmes are very delicate to handle. While making these programmes utmost care is taken so that the sentiments of any community or religion are not hurt. Religious programmes include Amrit Bani, Raag Rattan, Har Ki katha, Bani Gurbani, Rehraas, Hukam Nama.
Music Programmes :
Our musical programmes are quite different from the programmes of other channels. We don’t encourage indecent songs from albums rather we make programmes with originality. These programmes include Waaris Punjab De, Dhadd Sarangi, Sajjre Sur, Mehfil, Ibaddat, Speaker Kharke.
Sports Programme :
Different indoor and outdoor sports are played in different parts of Punjab and other northern states. We move from village to village to cover up these sports in the programme Rondi Nahi. We also shoot the activities of sports institutions under the programme Sports Academies. Besides this we also present Gatka, a program on Martial Arts.
Talk Shows :
We also present talk shows in our serials Tadke-Tadke, Trinjhan and Concern. In these talk shows we discuss current topics. |
